The Student Support Service is one of the TRIO programs funded by the United States Department of Education. The SSS (Student Support Service) helps first generation college students make the adjustment to college life. The program assists students in developing the skills and motivation necessary to successfully pursue a college education. This free service also provides individualized instruction to develop or strengthen the student’s identified needs in mathematics, English and reading.
A variety of workshops are presented throughout the year with information for personal, academic, and career development. Additionally, comprehensive advising services are available to assist students with academic affairs, financial aid, career guidance, and other student concerns. Any student who has been accepted to USC Salkehatchie can apply for admission to the Student Support Service.
All Salkehatchie students are encouraged to apply to the SSS, but because of federal eligibility guidelines, the program is restricted in the number of students served. However, any student who applies to the program will be properly evaluated. Please contact the SSS office for more information on eligibility requirements.
